Teaching Type
COURSE DESCRIPTION
One of the greatest challenges facing trainers and coaches new to Type is converting knowledge and a personal understanding of the MBTI to a tight, comfortable voice track—knowing what to say, how to answer questions, and how to explain the challenging corners of the Type model in ways that all kinds of learners will understand. OKA’s Teaching Type workshop aims not to enforce a script onto you, but to draw a unique Type voice out of you. After a brief content review—to ensure a secure foundation—participants take turns presenting and talking through segments of an MBTI introduction. Challenged with frequently asked questions, participants get practice and coaching walking through and explaining Type to clients. A skillset left out of the MBTI’s certification process, finding and honing your voice is a critical piece of teaching Type. Teaching Type is offered exclusively online and is capped at no more than five students to ensure that each participant gets focused, personalized attention.
Workshop Outcomes:
- Review the core content behind the MBTI and its scores to ensure the accuracy of your delivery
- Receive and discuss a list of frequently asked questions and their suggested answers
- Practice taking others through one or more components of an MBTI introduction—getting personalized feedback on strengths and opportunities for improvement
- While the thrust of this workshop is on the verbal delivery/voice track, participants can use their own PowerPoint slides (optional) and get feedback on those as well
- Practice receiving and responding in real-time to participant questions about Type and its interpretation and application
- Receive numerous support handouts detailing best practices and delivery tips
- 8 CE’s MBTI Master Practitioner
