Navigating change within organizations is challenging, and HR leaders are often at the forefront of guiding teams through these transitions. One of the most effective ways to approach this is by understanding the grief research and stages of change developed by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross. Using a change model grounded in these stages allows HR leaders to acknowledge and address the difficult yet necessary process of change with sensitivity and awareness.
OKA’s Leading & Facilitating Change workshop offers a unique opportunity to bring leaders across companies together, fostering a collaborative learning environment. This shared experience allows participants to exchange insights, discuss challenges, and learn from one another’s approaches to managing change. The power of learning alongside peers from diverse organizations amplifies the value of the workshop, offering new perspectives and practical strategies to apply within their own teams.
The workshop introduces a simple yet powerful model of the stages of change and equips HR leaders with a diagnostic tool to not only understand the stages but also take actionable steps to guide others through them. Understanding Change Styles is valuable, but it’s the actionable toolkit that makes a real difference—helping you support your teams in navigating the complexities of change.
Through interactive group discussions, we will learn how to identify the stages of change in others and adapt our strategies accordingly. By the end of the session, participants will have a comprehensive set of actions, interventions, and best practices they can immediately implement to help their organizations thrive during periods of change. The result is a collaborative, enriching experience that empowers leaders to lead with confidence and compassion as they guide their teams through transformation.
Participants will:
- Identify and reflect upon an actual change that is facing them right now—establishing this as a personal change case study
- Learn and discuss the four stages of the change model and how its roots are in the human approach to grief
- Explore both how to spot and how best to approach each stage of the change process
- Discover how they are in different stages of the model right now—as they consider different changes that are in process
- Apply the workshop’s content and insights to their personal change case study
- Derive an action plan that details what action they could take to move along—or help someone else move along—within a change process they are in
